Who is behind the app?
CJKI Arabic Verb Conjugator was developed by the CJK Dictionary Institute (CJKI). The author, Jack Halpern, is a lexicographer by profession. He was born in Germany and has lived in Japan over 35 years. He specializes in Japanese and Chinese lexicography and has studied 14 languages and has devoted several decades to the study of linguistics and lexicography. I just downloaded the CAVE app and I can’t find the present tense. when I scroll down there are many tenses available but Present is not showing. I am a beginning student.
It may be helpful if you search for the Arabic term and look for something that contains ุงูู ุถุงุฑุน.
in the app there is no choice for present tense. I only see
present active etc..
Present active is, I guess, the present tense, active voice – which should be what you are looking for.
Well the perfect active shows ูุดูุฑูุช which is I drank. I want I drink which is ุฃุดุฑุจ. Are you familiar with this app CAVE?
I tried the app in the past, but I currently just use the verb conjugator here at ‘Arabic for Nerds’. I guess the problem is the English grammar terminology. In linguistics, there are two terms: tense (when does the action happen?) and aspect (is the action completed?).
1. present (tense) = imperfect (aspect) = ุงูู ูุถุงุฑูุน
2. past (tense) = perfect (aspect) = ุงูู ุงุถู
