World War I (الحرب العالمية الأولى): A global conflict that lasted from 1914 to 1918, involving many of the world’s great powers. It was primarily fought in Europe and was triggered by the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. The war saw unprecedented levels of carnage and destruction, leading to significant political, social, and economic changes worldwide. The conflict ended with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles in 1919, which imposed heavy reparations and territorial losses on Germany.
