Hosni Mubarak (محمد حسني مبارك) was the fourth President of Egypt, serving from 1981 until 2011. He became president following the assassination of Anwar Sadat. His authoritarian regime ended during the Arab Spring in 2011, when widespread protests led to his resignation. Mubarak passed away on February 25, 2020.
