Ahmed Shawqi (ุฃุญู…ุฏ ุดูˆู‚ูŠ), known as the “Prince of Poets” (ุฃู…ูŠุฑ ุงู„ุดุนุฑุงุก), was an influential Egyptian poet and playwright born on October 17, 1868, and passed away on October 14, 1932. He is celebrated for his contributions to modern Arabic poetry and his pioneering work in Arabic poetic drama.
