Pharyngealization is a way of pronouncing sounds where you squeeze the back of your throat (pharynx). It adds a guttural, “throaty” quality to vowels or consonants. Arabic has letters like ุน (ayn) and ุญ (แธฅฤสพ) which are already pharyngeal.
