نَزْعُ الْخَافِضِ

0 posts

In classical Arabic grammar, نَزْعُ الْخَافِضِ (Naz‘ al-Khāfiḍ, literally “the removal of the lowerer/preposition”) refers to the elision of a governing preposition (ḥarf al-jarr) from a sentence. Once the preposition is omitted, the verb’s action reaches the noun directly, shifting its grammatical case from genitive (majrūr) to accusative (manṣūb ‘alā naz‘ al-khāfiḍ).
