Almost every Arabic word has a root of three or four letters. Identifying these roots (جِذْر) is straightforward because only ten specific "extra letters" (حُرُوف الزِّيادة) can be added to a radical. These letters are conveniently summarized in the word "سألتمونيها" (sa’altumuuniiha).
