Egyptian Arabic is referred to as ุงู„ุนุงู…ูŠุฉ ุงู„ู…ุตุฑูŠุฉ (al-สฟฤmmiyya al-Miแนฃriyya) or simply ู…ุตุฑูŠ (Maแนฃri). It is also sometimes called ุงู„ู„ู‡ุฌุฉ ุงู„ู…ุตุฑูŠุฉ (al-lahja al-Miแนฃriyya), which means “the Egyptian dialect”.
